Traditional dress-up dolls are made in the old European tradition, using all natural and organic materials- organic cotton fabric, soft carded wool stuffing, and various wool blend yarns for hair. Both the shape of the doll, and the facial embroidery, are kept simple in design and minimal (some have no embroidery at all). This encourages the child's imagination, and allows them to create within themselves their own images and pictures in their play.
Depending on size, these dolls range in price from $90 to $200

Floppy Dolls make the perfect 'first dress-up doll' for the pre-school aged child. They have a traditional Waldorf doll formed wool head and facial embroidery, and their body is made of the same materials. Their bodies are sewn, however, with stitched joints like a rag doll. Very durable, and very floppy! They are about 15" in length, yet can be folded up into a 7"ish little bundle and tucked into a purse, diaper bag, or even a big coat pocket. Not so much to worry about when your little one becomes too tired to carry it themselves. The hair on these dolls is embroidered on, and their hats securely stitched down- no messy hair for little hands to contend with. They do wear overalls with working buttons, but they can be easily removed and the straps stitched down if your child still puts such things in their mouth.

Bundle Babies are very special. They were the favorites of my own children when they were small (and less small!), and the most desired dollies in my Waldorf Early Childhood Classrooms. Made of the softest velours, and weighted with millet (weights vary by age/need of the child), they are therapeutic for all, especially so for little ones with extra sensory needs. Their lack of facial features encourages open-ended imaginative play and range of emotion. The weight gives the child a sense of holding a real baby, and the magic that follows is beautiful. In my classrooms, these babies were gently dressed and undressed (even with no limbs), always tucked sweetly into cradles and rocked in arms, and NEVER dropped or played with roughly. I was asked many times each day to "please hold my baby for a minute" while a little Mama or Daddy tended to another task. They were never left alone. The simplest of dolls, and most beloved by far. And so very important. If you have any questions about the use of these dolls in therapeutic situations, or how they might be of benefit to your child or EC classroom, please feel free to contact us for more specific information. The basket of babies pictured was half of a special order for an EC aftercare program at one of our local Waldorf schools.

Less traditional dress-up dolls are made using the same all natural and organic materials as our traditional Waldorf Dress Up dolls (organic cotton fabric, and soft carded wool stuffing) but their hair is made from brushable, styleable, goat mohair.
Depending on size, these dolls range in price from $100 to $230
These dolls are the most fun! Scrappers were so loved when we introduced them, that they now come in three sizes. They have a traditional Waldorf doll formed wool head and facial embroidery (the tiny ones have none), and the rest is much less traditional. They are made from scraps of upcycled wools, cottons, silks, natural fiber felts, buttons, lace, yarns, and bits of this and that.
They are just exactly that- cashmere, pocket sized dolls. Little formed wool heads, crocheted caps, and bodies made of upcycled bits of the softest cashmere. 4-ish inches tall, they are perfectly sized for dollhouse play, seasonal nature table displays and table-top puppet shows. They're especially nicely sized for long car rides, airplane flights, and even a trip to the grocery store. Tuck them in your pocket and take them everywhere!

Squishy soft and oh so snuggly! Like little pillows. Soooooo sweet. They are just the right size for tiny hands, and make a perfect friend for sleepy time, story time, and all the times in between. These littles have a traditionally formed wool head and embroidered facial features, crocheted cap (sewn tightly down), and organic cotton velour body. Because Snuggle Babies are best friends of the youngest children, they are stuffed with a cotton blend material rather than wool. Machine wash gentle cycle, air dry. So important.
